Pefki, Evia Island
Evia Island
a hidden gem
Evia or Euboea is the second-largest Greek island in area and population, after Crete, and the sixth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. In general outline it is a long and narrow island; it is about 180 km (110 mi) long, and varies in breadth from 50 km (31 mi) to 6 km (3.7 mi).
One of the features that makes Evia stand out is its strategic location. It is located very close to the capital of Greece, Athens, and is easily accessible by car, via a bridge, and by ferry. It is also connected by ferry to other islands of Greece as well as to the mainland.

Pefki
Pefki is located in the northernmost parts of Evia, on the coast of the Pagasitic Gulf and is one of the most famous tourist resorts in the area. It is a seaside village with a port and is known for both its fantastic beaches and its historical background.
Taking a brief look back in history, it is worth mentioning the famous naval battle of Artemisium. At the cape of Artemisium, of which Pefki is the port, the historic naval battle between the Persians and the Greeks took place in 480 BC.
Pefki is characterized as a fairly organized village, particularly family-friendly, with organized beaches, and activities for young and old. There, you will find organized beach volleyball and for water sports enthusiasts, the area is suitable for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
The village's pedestrian street is quite large, ideal for strolls in the evening hours at sunset where you will have the opportunity to admire one of the most impressive sunsets. At the same time, on the pedestrian street you will find a fairly satisfactory variety of gastronomic options that can cover all tastes.
It has one of the largest and most famous beaches in North Evia, nearly 4 km long, with sand and pebbles. At the same time, you can explore the eastern beaches of the area, such as Psaropouli in Vasilika, within close proximity.
One of the strong competitive advantages of the area is the port, which facilitates access from the Sporades, a cluster of islands, while also allowing you to take day trips there and back by boat.
